Opened in June 2000, the Play Area is a key attraction within London, welcoming over one million children every year.
Inspired by stories of Peter Pan, the play area features an iconic bespoke pirate ship. With nets, climbing ropes, a cabin and lofty crow’s nest, the galleon nestles in a sea of sand, accompanied by small and thrilling sailing boats. Designed by acclaimed Landscape Architects LUC, the play area has various pockets of play, a play hut village, sensory garden, and climbing areas, amongst others, all linked together through a playful paths and plantings. It’s not hard to see why this play space consistently scores very highly on Trip Advisor.
