Dawn Woollam

Leisure and Commercial Play Consultant

ALT TEXT

A common theme perhaps among our team; it all started for Dawn when she too joined a client trip to the Frasdorf, home of Richter Spielgeräte in 2010. Hooked by the concept of play value, and child-focused design, Dawn has since worked with Timberplay on a number of projects client-side, finally joining the Timberplay team in May 2025 to enhance the service that we offer customers, both here in the UK and Ireland, as well as further afield internationally.

Dawn joins Timberplay following a 15-year career in the leisure and hospitality world, working with both public and private sector clients to develop new, and enhance existing leisure, recreation and hospitality businesses. Dawn brings to the team a wealth of skills spanning financial appraisal and commercial strategy, psychology-led visitor experience design, planning and stakeholder engagement, and will be working with customers past, present and future, to assess the impact that investment in play can, and does have on businesses and local communities.

Dawn is our adventure-seeking play advocate who, spurred by witnessing the effects of modern education systems (and society in general….) on her own two children, has made it her mission to champion playful experiences for future generations. What she modestly calls an "early midlife crisis" has blossomed into a slightly ridiculous collection of outdoor pursuits—trail running, hiking, paddle boarding, cycling, skiing, and golfing—that regularly see her car packed to the brim as she dashes between her Oxford and Lake District bases. When not conquering the great outdoors, you'll find Dawn deep into a wellbeing, science, or sports podcast (just ask for recommendations—she's got plenty!), or at the local pub, savouring a pie and pint while her eyes remain glued to whatever sporting event is playing. Think of her as Timberplay's very own adventure ambassador, collecting outdoor hobbies like they're Tamagotchis (remember those?!).
